Problem

EDF contacted us regarding a system upgrade at a property in Stogursey. Within the same week, our team member Jody visited the site to assess the best location for the tank and discharge, completing all necessary risk assessments and method statements. After the client accepted our competitive quote, Leanne in the office submitted the building notice and arranged a convenient start date.

Outcome

On-site, the team conducted health and safety checks and secured the area. Excavation for the tank and pipework was carried out using a 3-tonne excavator, with excavated material moved using a 1-tonne dumper. The tank was securely anchored in the trench, and a building control inspector signed off on the work. The old tank was safely decommissioned with a suction tanker, allowing the new system to be connected. The tank was set in concrete to manufacturer specifications, electrical work was inspected and certified, and the site was backfilled and reinstated to a high standard, leaving no trace of the work carried out.

How Did We Handle Groundwater Near a Pond?

See what one of our Senior Engineers, Chris Jeanes, has to say.

We always allow extra days to overcome any issues that cannot be foreseen. This particular job had a pond nearby, which caused groundwater to reach our installation excavation, requiring near-continual pumping out.
